Units Spotlight - Japanese Ke-To and Ho-Ro
Greetings Commanders,
Time to continue the units spotlight series with the latest Japanese units released with the 1.50 update, the Type 2 Ke-To and the Type 4 Ho-Ro.
Type 2 Ke-To:

Type of tank: Light tank
Rarity: Legendary
History:
The Type 2 Ke-To was based on the Type 98 Ke-Ni, using the same engine and bell crank suspension. Production commenced in 1944, with 34 units completed by the end of the war. No Type 2 Ke-To light tanks are known to have engaged in combat prior to Japan's surrender at the end of the war.
Weapons:
Main Gun: Type 1 37mm Tank Gun; Effective vs light/medium armor and infantry support
Coaxial MG: Type 97 Machine Gun; Suppressive fire against infantry while moving
In-game statistics:

Gameplay:
Fast flanking light tank with moderate Armor-Penetration (45) – The Type 2 Ke-To is a highly mobile reconnaissance unit designed for rapid repositioning, scouting, and punishing exposed targets.
It excels at hit-and-run tactics, circling heavier enemies and exploiting weak flanks. Compared to other light tanks, it has better penetration and accuracy, but lower survivability, making positioning critical.
Performs best when supporting infantry or finishing off damaged vehicles rather than engaging head-on.
Type 4 Ho-Ro:

Type of tank: Medium Self-Propelled Artillery
Rarity: Rare
History:
Inspired by the German Grille series, particularly the 15 cm sIG 33 self-propelled infantry support gun, the exact number produced in 1944 is uncertain, but it was approximately 12 units. The Type 4 Ho-Ro was commissioned and deployed in platoons of four. They saw action in the 2nd Armored Division, which had been reassigned to the 14th Regional Army, during the Philippine Campaign in 1945
Weapons:
Main Gun: 150mm Type 38 Howitzer; Indirect fire, high explosive AoE, long range
Secondary: None
In-game statistics:

Gameplay:
Long-range indirect fire support with high explosive damage (90) – The Type 4 Ho-Ro is a mobile artillery unit specialized in bombarding enemy positions from a safe distance, dealing heavy AoE damage to infantry and light vehicles.
It fires over obstacles, making it ideal for breaking entrenched defenses and controlling zones from behind the frontline.
However, it has very slow reload, limited mobility, and extremely weak armor, requiring proper positioning and protection.
Performs best when paired with scouting units that provide vision, allowing it to safely deliver consistent pressure without direct engagement.
